Hi,
I would also like to know how to tell the difference between a female plakat and a female veiltail.
Thanks :)

vt: top fin a bit bigger, bottom fins more spikey

p: bottom fin is sort of smooth

thats the difference.

I agree with oppositearmor. I have photos for you too.

It's REALLY hard to tell, even with the pics as a reference, unless you know the lineage of the betta. If you want a plakat female, I'd just order one from a breeder, that way you know for sure.

im new to this, what is a good site for ordering quality bettas?
Aquabid is good but shipping is generally very expensive... you could also try asking around here on the boards. :)

I know Bettaman and Yeevia have bettas they sell. And you could ask Wuv when she gets back.

But yeah, it is very hard to tell.

So could I say that the veiltails have a longer underneath fin? Sorry I dont know the name of that fin....
Here are the pictures - Can you guys tell me what they are?
Thanks :)

This is Yasmine (sorry the pic is the best one I have of her)

It would be much easeir to tell if you take your camera out of solarize mode and put some normal pictures up. Solarize doesn't give very clear pictures and that's needed for a positive id.
What is solarize mode? Thoese are pretty much the best pictures I can get at the moment. Some of the pictures are clear - Can anyone tell me what thoese bettas are?
Thanks :)

A lot of digital cameras have different effects for pitures. Black and white, Sepia(makes it look like an old picture with a reddish hue), negative, solarize, and I think there's one more but I can't remember atm. Solarize kinda distorts the colors and makes the pictures look all fuzzy like the way yours look. If your camera doesn't have that then I retract my previous statement and apolagize. :*)

Hey,
I have no clue if it has solarize mode. All I know is that I took the flash off because if its on than when you look at the picture all you see is bright light... And no fish!
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks :)
