Telephone Box Fish Tank

Where does it say there is no filtration?

It doesn't, im just guessing. :/

but there doesnt look like there's any room for filtration, imo..

theres clearly a kick plate around the bottom which will be 6/8" deep, the same at the top..... could quite easily put some form of filtration into there, shape doesn't matter you just need a box for some sponge and a pump to pull water through it.

Not a strange comment. If it is for a festival and will be removed after it, and I agree there are no tropical fish in that tank then whats the problem with it? Its certainly not cruel!!

Agreed.

I don't really want to get in on this, but I just thougt I might mention that the number of posts a member has is no reflection on their character or actual knowledge of fishkeeping - not that I am passing any judegments or anything. But the number of posts is quite irrelevent.

Now, back to the actual topic.

We don't really have enough information on this setup to say if it functions well or not. It may have a filter, but we just don't know. The fish may experience some stress from people, but it is not a permanent installment and like someone else mentioned - it is probably similar to fish in a LFS. I think that it is a pretty cool conceptual tank and as long as the fish are properly looked after during and after the festival - which we just can't know and therefore cannot judge on - it is not all that cruel. But that is just my opinion.

yeah, but a troll is usually someone who joins a forum just to create a fuss...and considering i have been here over a year, and have almost 2000 posts, it doesnt look like i joined just to make a fuss.

Yes - good point. :good: (Not trying to offend or calling you a troll - just pointing out a thought about the post number thing :) )

Apart from the vandalism thing it looks pretty good. These fish have plently of room in a huge tank I don't see what the problem is.

Sorry about that. Was tired and a bit wound up when I posted that. I did not articulate myself very well at all.

What I should have said (and I belive someone else has also made the point) is that we dont know anything about this setup. For all we know it could have a 10,000 gallon sump underneath! It seems to me that there are too many posts where people are only posting to get a reaction when, if they really are concened if would be more productive to get in touch with the person responsible.

Anyway, sorry for any offence caused.

Wilde.

i doubt those who came up with this dont know about the proper maintenance with fishes. what i see as a problem is some drunk cracking the glass with a thrown stone for fun.

lol, the bit that makes me laugh is how many times they talk about 'exotically coloured fish' when they clearly aren't :p

but theres plenty of room in there if they're looked after. They don't say anything about it being temporary in the article :S
