Teamspeak

teamspeak is free to run... I used to run it on a games server I left on all the time...

I use Skype now though - loads easier.

I've used Teamspeak for gaming. It is lots better than Ventrilo IME.

TBH though with everyone speaking over everyone else it was a pain in the arse, and generally it evolved that the people who were loudest were chatting all the time and everyone else was overrun.

It might be good for an emergency, but one of the primary benifits of a text based forum is that others can search and benefit from the problem being fixed in the past.

I dont see the point. Team speak was created for online gamers to speak throgh a mic (much faster than typeing), thus the convienance. I dont think we need it here because no one's life depends on being able to type super fast to let people know whats going on. But if ur super lonely and need to hear somone's voice, there are other places for that :) We have a chat room, no need to talk when u can type.

Fishes life depends on it sometimes.

The chat room is empty a lot.. why would teamspeak be used by more people when you have to download it, set it up, and have a microphone.. all you have to do to chat is click a button.. but for some reason nobody really even does that

Nothing would convince me that people not even wanting to chat in the chat room, would want to talk on microphones to other people.
