Just a quick question..

What is deemed an acceptable TDS reading for RO water

I am currently using a 3 Stage RO unit (Sediment cartridge, Carbon cartridge & 100gpd membrane with 3-1 restrictor)

My current tap water reads off at 433ppm and the reading from the RO unit 17ppm all the filters are new not even a 1 month old..

At what point does the RO reading start becomming unacceptable??

Usualy, you want TDS in single figures. You'd exect about 4-5 for your water source with good membranes and pre-filters  Looks like you need to run a membrane flush with the flush kit you *should* have fitted :good:

I have 2 ro systems, one reads near 12, the other around 24. mixing with your 433 tds tap it would matter very little if the ro was zero or 17.
Keep in mind that your TDS meter was not calibrated at zero TDS. It was probably calibrated with a specific salt solution. Don T.

This seems to vary the filters that i am using are from a reputable source and 17ppm i didn't feel that it was excessive but at what point does it become to much?

I haven't put a flush kit on my machine so might be worth getting one, also posts of people that have near to 0 seem to have a DI filter is this the case?

Get the flush kit, asap. Frequent flushing makes the membrane last years longer. Yours is clearly getting clogged and is in need of a flush. Your output TDS should be about 100 times less than your tapwater...
