Hi Kim
Sparkly clean water will do them the world of good. Wouldn't want to suggest any remedies as i dont know what fish you have or your tank size, etc....
Any pics of your new bettas??

depending on what you have, i'd say melafix would be your best bet, cheap and reasonably harmful to most aquatic animals...of course you could have the exception :)

melafix promotes fin re-growth, however, like bronze-cat said, post what else you have in your tank and size etc. becasue they could be getting nipped or it could be fin-rot :)

The best bet for regrowing tatty fins is crystal clean water and a bit of aquarium salt, melafix wont hurt. Is there anything in the tank that might be nipping on the fins?

ok, the tank is 48'' by 12'' by 15'' high. and is approx 132 litres (29 gallons) and has a external canister filter 1200 litres per hour.
there is nothing other than female bettas in the tank and there are 17 fishes in there.
i dont think its fin rot cos i had a fish with that before and i cant see any similarities.

Hi
Melafix or aquarium salt will help. Didn't want to say earlier in case you had things like corys or elephant nose fish etc....

As they are new, they should improve quite quickly if your water is nice and clean.

Cheers
