Just curious what others are using. I know quite a few people are using pond dechlorinator now days. I have also been hearing stress coat isn't all its hyped up to be. I normally use Stress Coat or Aqua Plus but I wondering if it's time to switch over. What do you guys think?

I picked other because I use 'API Tap Water Conditioner'. Sorry if it is the same as API Stress Coat I don't know.
I didn't even know what type of dechlorinator it was until I just checked!!! LOL

Oh and it works well.

I use Waterlife Haloex. It's more concentrated so lasts longer than others I've tried.

I use Kockney Koi Pond Dechlor. I'll never use aquarium dechlor again. It seems to cost 20 times more as soon as they write 'aquarium' on the label.

http://www.kockneykoi.co.uk/productpages/m...chlorinator.htm

It treats 75 litres of water per 1ml of dechlor, around 20 times more concentrated than standard aquarium dechlor.

It's actually stupidly cheap. For example, my tank is 260 litres, and I perform a 25 - 30% water change (around 75 litres) weekly. I therefore need 1ml of dechlorinator per water change.

1ml per week would last 500 weeks, so my 500ml bottle bought from Ebay for around £8 will last over 9 years.

So over the next 9 years I'll spend something like 84p per year on dechlorinator. Absolutely crazy when I think how much money I was spending before on products like Nutrafin Aquaplus.

Of course it won't last 9 years as i usually overdose it etc etc, but its still a really good bargain. :good:

BTT

Can you point me to the ebay member that sells this normally as there seems to be non of this stuff available right now!

I use API Tap Water Conditioner. It's a good, reasonably priced dechlorinator that also takes care of chloramine, if you need it to. :D

I use a Pond one, lt's cheaper and does the same job, just got to be scale down how much I use due to it's strength.

Cheers, Karl
