Tannins...

I currently have 2 pieces of Mopani wood soaking, they've been soaking a month now & still losing tannins.
Whilst I don't mind a little colour in the water, I don't want tea looking tanks, so for me it's carry on soaking!

Ive got a rather large piece of mopani wood in the tank and one medium piece of bogwood. I love the mopani wood and it has a gorgeous front to it but its blocked by plants. I think my tank might be overcrowded so I might remove some plants and have a change around if possible.

I had the same issue. My wood was soaked in hot water for 3 weeks, and has now been in my tank for nearly two months. I tried carbon and Purigen and neither really helped, so I will stick to the tried and tested method of water changes, which is now making a difference

Patience is the key, if you really don't like the colour, then keep soaking in a bucket until it stops leeching colour, which could take a few months.
I have one piece that's been in my Edge tank for about 3 months now & still stains the water, even with regular water changes
The fish don't seem to mind at all
