36 gal bowfront
pH= 7.9 or 8.0
GH= 7.6 according to the water company, but around 9 when I tested it myself
Alkalinity= 100 mgl
Cycled

Currently have 7 harlequin rasboras, 1 hillstream loach and a few neon tetras. I had ten neons, but all but 1-2 have died so I clearly can't get those again. I thought they'd be fine but was wrong.

Any community fish that you think would do well in my tank? I love schooling fish, but they don't need to be either. Thanks!

Sorry to be a pain, but could you post the dimensions of your tank as well, please?

Some fish need more room to swim up and down than others :)

could do a really cool school of chili rasboras get like 100 of them. Have the bioload of a shrimp.

There are fish with completely different requirements here. Hillstream Loach requires cooler water (room temperature, not warmer) and a good current from the filter. All rasbora require still water, no strong currents, and warmer temperatures would be better, depending what room temperature is.

It would help to know the unit of measurement for the GH...mg/l, ppm, degrees, etc.

Ah I didn't even see he had is own little suggestions there lol

Try an angelfish (but as a young one) because adults can eat neons if aren't grown up with the fish n the tank, they can also be boisterous at some times although I've never experienced this

I've never seen chili rasboras. Are they common at LFS?

Also, can you have angelfish with powder blue gouramis? I got one powder blue yesterday.

no, to both imo
to late to ask that question than isn't it.

I asked on an earlier thread (about having gouramis in my community tank...not angelfish) and when I asked about a gourami nobody said not to....

I do not have angelfish. I think you may have misread? You said "no to both" so I thought you meant no to angelfish and gouramis separate of each other.

can you have angelfish with powder blue gouramis?
That is what I said. No to both, Separate them and return the gourami or the angelfish, gourami's are notorious for harassing angelfish. that is if you want to buy or already have both. (separate meaning different tanks)
idk if you read the link or not I provided to you that clearly states they are not compatible, that along with 3 other websites.
"Your Angels may chase the gourami's..but actually...your gourami's will nip the fins of your angels. Probably doing more damage. They are pretty notorious for that. I personally wouldn't put the two together. Been my expereince..even though some people may say otherwise."
"Gouramis and the Angelfish will be quite large. Each adult Angelfish needs about ten gallons of aquarium space, and they can be very aggressive. Aquarium fish originate from all sorts of different environments, and many have incompatible requirements and behavior patterns. This holds true even for farm raised or aquarium raised species."
"...........No go just put 2 angels in with my gouramis and well it didn't work out too well"

Again, I do not have angelfish.

Someone on this thread suggested them so I asked a question about them.

Must be. I asked if you can have them together. I didn't say I bought one. I have a powder blue gourami. I own zero angelfish.

Don't be rude. I'm simply asking a question about fish.
