Fish Fanatic
I've been working at a JCC summer camp in New York as a high ropes instructor and had to leave my aquarium at home. My family has been taking care of the tanks and yesterday was my first day off in three weeks that I could come check on them.
One was covered in green algae, all walls of it, the stone at the bottom, all the decor. I did a 50% water change and also cleaned the decor and walls as best I could. Fish seem fine regardless of this happening.
My father told me that this happened after he took the filters out and cleaned both of them "because they were really dirty."
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or ideas about this? Is it just an algae bloom or should I be concerned about anything else going on behind the scenes? Any room for concern with the fish in the tank? They all seem fine.
I may not respond to this because I don't have reliable internet access this summer but thank you!!!
