Hi

I'm looking to get back in to fish-keeping after a 3 months break for a house move. I previously had a 4 foot 75gal tank, but don't want anything that large again. I was wondering if anybody had some suggestions on good, smart tanks between about 80 and 90cms?

I've been looking at the juwel vision 180 and fluval vicenza 180, and then the juwel rio 125, fluval roma 125 and the aquatlantis 80XL. Does anybody have any advice on any of these tanks, on the equiptment they come with, reliability issues etc.

My other option is to get a 2ft(ish) cube, but I'm a bit concerned by the lack of length. Does anybody have a cube tanki and could give me some advantages of having one?

Thanks!

My recommendation would be to go for one of the fluval tanks, IME the fluval equipment is much more reliable than the equivalent items made by juwel, I brought a juwel 240 13 months ago and i've already had to replace the whole light unit, the heater and the powerhead. I'm also not a fan of the Juwel box filter

From the tanks listed i would choose the vicenza 180, simply because it has a larger capacity, (For me personally i always find that once i've set a tank up i'm always wishing that i had gone that little bit larger) Even if you don't use that extra capacity, I'm sure the fish will appreciate that extra space.

i run 5 jewel tanks including 3 rio 125s and have had no problems at all.

Thanks for the replies

Its the vicenza 180 i'm leaning towards at this moment in time, my only concern is that, as I've moved in to an appartment it won't be on the ground floor and 180litres sounds a bit much for an upstairs floor? I do like the drilled base though very clean and neat.

My only requirement is that its safe enough upstairs, and that the cabinet will hold my tetratec ex1200 filter that I kept when I sold my last tank.

Has anyone got any experience with the fluval osaka 155? It looks a very smart tank, but as they're new I'm not sure I'd want to risk getting a problematic one.

Also, how obtrusive are the juwel trigon 190's and other corner tanks? I'm assuming they take up less room than the standard rectangle ones, but I've never seen one in a shop thus far.

Thanks
