Tank size for an eel.

Still feed some flakes as it is best to give your fish a varied diet but you can cut down on the ammount of flake you give when you are feeding the bloodworm.

ok cheers. also i want to no how to see it live foods such as neons maybe i dunno jst it wouild b good to watch, is there anyway to do this???

Only large eels will take fish and even then they are more likely to do it at night rather than when you can see it, peacock eels are not known for being overly predatory and would probably ignore the neons.

With the spiny eels, the closest thing to eating a fish I've seen mine do is to swim up and sort of sniff the side of a fish, especially my black moor and albino moor and the gouramis. Of course, mine are only small at the moment, but from what I've read the chances are slim. As for diet, go with what cfc wrote, they absolutely love bloodworms. I also feed mine granules, flakes(never seen em eat them though) and blackworms. Any of these foods are fine for other fish and your fish will love you for the live foods. One last thing though, with my eels, I hardly ever see him unless I stir up the bottom, am planning on getting something ornament-wise that's open enough for me to see him, but closed enough for him to feel safe. also keeping a few plants helps. My other eel is constantly moseying around the tank majority of the time so I guess my other one is just a bit shy. One upside to eels that makes up for not being able to feed them live fish is the fact that they're supposed to get tame enough for you to handfeed. All in all I love my eels and would recomend them for anyone with the space and patience for them :)
