Well I am moving to a different room in my house. Being the noob I am I did not know how heavy a full 10 gallon tank is. Well I started to pick it up but realized I could not carry it. I had one tetra in there. (I know i should have more but he was the last surviving one of 6). As I was putting the tank down somehow i set it on the corner of the table. I heard a crack and water started to spill out the bottom. By this time I was in full panic mode and somehow forgot about my one tetra. I grabbed every towel and piece of clothing I could to try to stop the water. I was afriad to pick up the tank because I didnt want the bottom to fall out completly. Once all the water was out i remember my tetra. I found him and picked him up and threw him in the tank next to me. This tank has 3 gouramis and a redtail shark. Is my black neon tetra ok to live in there for now? If not my only other options are with 2 angel fish, or with a male betta. My carpet was completly soaked but luckly I was able to throw all my stuff that was on the floor out into the hallway. The only thing that was damaged besides my carpet and tank and fish was my paintball gear :-( . So will my tetra be ok in with the gouramis and redtail shark? Thanks for any help!

Never move or pick a tank up full of water, yes it will crack through the weight.
He should be ok, what were the stats of your 10gal to your other tank.
Red tailed shark are aggressive and if he not it a big tank and not happy, he will pick smaller fish off.
As for the angels they tend to eat neon tetras.

Thanks for the reply. The PH was about the same as was the temp. My redtail shark is very small, only a tiny bit bigger then the tetra so hopefully he won't be to hard on the tetra. Until I can get another tank I have no other option since I know my betta will attack him and the angels will munch also.

Bless him, take him back to the lfs as he should really be in a shoal.

i always move my tanks with full water, the worst that happens is some water spills on me if i stop to fast, its also 10g, its just a baby tank tho, and i have a 5 g hospital tank wich i also move with water in it, just dont hold from the bottom of the tank and make sure the whole tank is positioned correctly on a top

I DO THIS AT MY OWN RISK THOUGH!!!!!! no one take this as permission to go ahead and do it, my tanks that i move around are usually always empty so all i risk is the tank
