Tank Shape...

Wow,

loads of replies when I got into work - Thanks everyone :)

Im really not sure on what to get.. stuck as both seem to have advantages / disadvantages

Has anyone got any pics of a bow fronted in full view of the whole tank (looked in the photo section but can only find up close pics?)

looks like I might have to convince the mrs to let me have the best of both and get 2 tanks! :p

I prefer rectangle. Yeah its better to you fish and easy to maintain.

Cool thanks everyone! I'll carry on shopping! I think im not swaying towards the rectangle but the girlfriend thinks the bow fronts will look better! (I can never win :p)

Fish-R-Fancy - Thank you, if its not too much trouble would it be possible to grab a pic :)

Thanks All,

Craig

I've got both rectangular and bowfront tanks, and I don't really notice the distortion. I chose a bowfront as my main tank as I thought it looked a bit different, and I wanted the tank to stand out.

In terms of the structured backgrounds, they seem a bit too permanent for me, I prefer to just have a dark image as a background

I prefer the rectangle, its a good way to get lots of length in the tank but also still have a tank which is compact and easy to fit into the average room. I've had quite a few hex tanks, but they are only so-so in comparison to the classic rectangle shape tank IMHO (hex tanks tend to have problems like not having a lot width or length in general, hex tanks tend to be all height, which can be an issue when stocking certain types of fish).
