Hi,
Hardware stores sell amonia, there are some good calculators of water and tank sizes on the forums, you will need to know the length height and width of your tank, take time to read as many forums as possible.

Ty xd but what you mean by hardware stores and in what section? So they will ne other chemicals right ?

Ammonia is a cleaning product... quite common, but deemed as "old fashioned" so you may need to hunt a little, or ask !
You will need to make SURE that it is ONLY ammonia... as its common to add other chemicals to the bottle, such as a "surfactant" or perfume etc.
A lot of large chemists (pharmacies ?) will stock it too.

A 4 foot by 12 inches by 15 inches tank will hold around 140 litres (this will vary depending on the rocks etc in the tank ! but I always dose for 140l)

Depending on where you are, the members can sometimes suggest more specific places to try. ~~waterdrop~~
ty for your help sounds hard to find? xD i and my tank isnt 4 foot i wanted to look for prices for tanks about 1000 litres or 400+ but the local places was talking in ft hmm is is nomal for fish tanks in aust to measure in ft? lol i just got an air stone my small black ghost when throught it and went flying lol will he be alrite? also how do i post imagnes in the plant section? im limmited to 100kb lols

If you are in Australia, ammonia can be harder to find than UK or USA. There are, however, 3 or 4 members I remember hearing the stories of. Seems like a couple made connections with chemists/pharmacists if I'm remembering correctly...

If you want the volume of a tank in litres, don't measure it in feet. A litre is 1000 ml which is very close to 1000 cc. Why put yourself through the unit conversion process when the meters are so handy to use for volume calculations? A 1000 litre tank would be huge, but I would love one that big. I would expect it to be 6 or 8 feet long, more likely 8 feet. I have a 6 foot long tank that is 125 gallons, about 400 litres, but I have seen 6 foot long tanks rated as 180 gallons which would be about 650 litres. Much bigger than that usually means an 8 foot tank in the US.

i get mine from boots :) if you have one near you it may be worth a try but ask for "household ammonia" otherwise if you ask for pure they may look at you funny lol

Ty lols hmm cause I diD a quick search on eBay and usually it says 4ft tank or something like that I hasn't check the full discription but cause I'm not on the computer
