what about a betta with a red tailed shark,

also do people feel that bettas like plant cover. i tend to find they dont care about plants , as long as they have a cave to hide in.

you could try dwarf corries (corydoras hastatus (sp?)) a group of half a dozen would do well. bristle nose plec mabey?

no plec if its under 10g. thats a general rule.

RTB+ betta = DEATH

pigmei corys (sp?) would do great with a betta.
