i stick to the 1 watt per gallon. with your tank being 14 litres, 3 gallons and 4 gallons us. id suggest 5 watts. but saying that a little look around on ebay for some leds would work really well as your tank ain't too big. i got a blue led bar off amazon that im hoping will light up my 2 foot tank. less than a tenner so its worth a shot. i'll let ya know and put a pic or two up as they do white ones too.
Hello,I have a 14x7x9 cubic inch fish tank. I was wondering how do I set up lighting for it? How much watts do I need?
The only plant I have as of this moment is Rotala Rotundifolia sp. Green. And I'm planning to put an HM Betta

enjoy the read!
I did a quick in my head calculation and I think you have about a 10 gallon tank. To me that means that you need at least a 10 watts and maybe a bit bigger fluorescent tube as lighting, even for low light plants. Have you thought about the spiral type tubes being offered today?
