Tank In Window

I have a tank on my kitchen worktop, the bottom of the window sits 6inches about the bottom of the tank, gets roughly two hours of direct sunlight (when there is sunlight) and the rest is just a normal light from the day. There's no hood or light fixture with this tank and it was a great tank from spring to autumn last year and plants were great in it. No algae issues at all. Obviously the plants didn't do well in the winter and I moved them all but will be starting it again soon and doing a journal.
Temp wasn't an issue, it didn't go higher or lower other than 1 degree when it was really warm.
Its worth giving it a try and keeping a close eye on the temp on the tank.
