You might try NOT changing water for a while as it might stabilize and algae start to fade with no new water. It's a tough call on that one. One thing that is always good is changing or washing the prefilter often. Dailey while you have a problem.
Try and remove as much slime algae by net or siphon and see if your plants and no large water changes start to outcompete the algae.
