Tank Ideas

over the past year Ive raised guppies in my 10 and 30 gallon aquarriums. I have since found someone to buy what I have and plan to start a new. I was thinking about neon tetras because they were a childhood favorite of mine. I know they school and you need a min of 5-6 but how many could i put in the 30 and what would some good tank mates be for them. Also if you have a better idea of what to do let me know.

if ur getting neons because they school i would recommend cardinal tetras as neons r not (from my experience) the typical schooling fish whereas cardinals do school more often

Yeh and Cardinals look nicer too.

theyre both peaceful and stay small so they may work out. but i think they can crossbreed since they are both in the same genus

You can keep them together yes, never heard of them crossbreeding mind. My personal preference would be to just have a shoal of Cardinals though.

u have more chance of giving birth 2 a 62" plasma tv than u do of them cross-breeding, there hard enuff 2 breed normally so cross-breeding would be a real challenge

Cardinals are also hardier than neon tetras. Neons are very specific about their water parameters and need soft water.
