I have a 55 us gallon, 48l x 12w x 18t, and my grandfather wants the tank to be flashy. Meaning more activity. I could just pop in a large group (10-15) of small tetras, and some bigger fish like rainbows, giant danios, or congo tetras. I do want my tank to still atleast have my male HRP, and a group of 5 Bolivian Rams, and 8 corydoras.
If i cant have my HRP, i want a cichlid as a centerpiece fish. My 2 small JD's are just temporary till I get a 80-100 gallon, seeing as im working now i should have one by end of the year. JD's are maybe 2inches.
Please help me with this.

Should be fine. Hrp are usually ok on their own and will make a stunning centre piece fish.

any ideas to add using the HRP as a center piece, and having a school or two of fish?

Something with a decent size body mass. Black ruby barbs, golden barbs, colunbian red fin tetras or if you're feeling flush, bleeding heart tetras.

ok, thank you. still gonna ponder on my possibilities.
