'tank Guard' Aquarium Algal Coating

I read a review or advert in PFK a few months back and the product sounded handy.

It implied that by smearing the product on a new tank (front inner face) you dont actually stop algea growth but it is far more easily wiped off with less effort.

I'm thinking of applying this to a new tank

It retails, according to PFK, at around £20 (not sure how long it lasts)

Any thoughts?

It seems like a good idea. Look on Ebay, I saw someone selling some for £9.99 ish.

does it protect against scratches or just muck also is it like the stuff you put on your ipod to protect the screen because the air bubbles drive me crazy
