my tanks getting really hot even without the heater on.
im in a fishless cycle, my heater isnt even turned on and my tanks getting up to 27-29 degrees.

i think it may have something to do with the weather as its been really really hot.

is there anythink i can do to keep it at the right temp when i do have fish in there.... ie somethink i can buy to drop the temp or just a water change to cool it down??

thanks in advance
stu

A fan aimed into the top of tank works really well in my experience, easier/quicker than ice cubes aswell.

turn lights off, increase airation in the water, open feeding panels if theres no risk of fish jumping out, aim fan at top of tank

bottles of frozen/chilled water or ice cubes dont really work as all they do is cause the water temp to fluctuate, which is worse for the fish

took the lid off and aimed a fan at the top.
see how it goes it currently at 28 degrees ....hot hot hot

Move to Yorkshire it's not been as hot as they said it was gonna be :-(
