Has anybody got any cheap ideas how to make tank dividers 12" x 16" ??

hi, cross stitch mesh and paper binders work a treat. They can easily be cut down to size.

HTH :)

thankyou for that suggestion
being not the cross stich type  how do I fix it to the paper binders ?

It is a plastic mesh. You slip it between the sides of the paper binders and attach the paper binders to the tank.

I've cut the eggcrate just a hair larger than the inside of the tank & wedged it in for fish that aren't quite bruisers such as angels. No frame needed, if you are going to separate more muscular fish use the PVC to reinforce it.

Now that is a wonderful, wonderful link !!!

THanks so much !!

the holes in the eggcrate are too big for malawi fry, could i put a sheet of filter floss on one side of it to stop the fry getting through?

You could cut a nice piece of needlepoint grid to fit right over the egg crate. You can find sheets of plastic with fairly small openings made for needlepoint work at almost any sewing shop.
