White sand, while it looks good is actually bright for most fish, the lights will glare off white sand tbh.
I had white sand for a while in one of my tank set up, looked good for a few months then it gets a dirty kind of look to it despite my efforts to keep it clean, and its hard work trying to keep white sand looking good.
So I would suggest to go for a more natural looking or even dark sand as this helps tone down the tank brightness and is less stressful to fish. Incidently, will alos help to bring out the colours of the fish too. That makes it a win-win scenario imho hence why I now always go for a natural looking substrate.
Would be most useful if you can provide what yor water parameters are before anyone gives suggestions as to what would suit your set up. Water hardness readings of gH, kH and pH would be a good start to having an idea of what would suit your water.
You can get most, if not all, that information online with your local water authority website.
