Tang Tank - What To Add Next?!

As promised I took some (bad) photos last night. I didn't use the flash as I didn't want to scare them so they aren't as clear as they could be.

This one shows the bit of fin rot on the tail

As you can see they are yet to colour up but I like the pinky sheen to their body and their huuuuge eyes! The massive caudal fins give a good indication of the room they need to swim and after seeing them in my 4ft I would certainly hate to see them in anything smaller!

Thanks. I caught the Rainbows spawning in the moss under the Anubia roots this morning! If they weren't hybrids I'd have picked the eggs but as they are they can feed the Julies.

Surprisingly the Lestradea are quite settled already, they've investigated the entire tank and rested right on top of one of the multies shells much to hs dismay! It took quite a bit of tentative pecking to shift him, they are by far the largest fish in the tank! The Julies haven't bothered them, even when they ventured onto their rocks so it's all looking good so far. Right now they are hovering about 3" above the shell bed and the muties are ignoring them now. I removed the centre rockpile to free up more sand for them so now there is the Julies planted rock/bogwood pile in the right third, the shellies in the left third and open sand in the middle. Unfortunately the smaller of the 2 seems to have a small patch of finrot on it's tail so I'm keeping an eye on that. Apparently he does fortnightly w/c (he has a 5x2x2) so as I do weekly I'm hoping that'll clear up.

I'm quite excited too, I've got a little bit of money coming in the next few months (unfortunately it's because my Great Aunt died) and my husband said "what about a pair (yes, pair!) of the oak tanks at MA! I tried to suggest same size but cheaper Fluval type but he's adamant he wants the oak ones! So, if that comes off I'l be searching for some more L perspicax! God knows where I'll get them from!

What are you hoping to put in your new tank?

Very nice pictures you posted, like the cobbles, I'm using the same sort of thing in my Tropheus tank just now, more natural look. I removed all the ocean rock, I have been putting a pice in a tank that has a couple of BN plecs in there, next morning rock all clean. I have 5 sand sifters just now, Xenotilapia bathyphilus (Mtoto), had 7 , 2 jumped from tank, was thinking they can go in the 4' when it's freed up with all the Cyprichromis fry thats been accumulating lately, would love some Caudopunctatus but this may be an appertunity to add some Multies again, they rock. . . .
have sen the oak tanks in MA and I agree they are lovely, saying that I dont think you'll get a better tank than the Fluval Roma240 for the same money, biassed I know,

I was warned about their skittishness and have filled all the gaps but I'm used to that with the rainbows, in fact they are less skittish than the praecox , I lost several of those just doing water changes!
I prefer the cobbles too, they aren't easy to stack securely but make a more natural tank as you say. I'd definitely take the opportunity to add multies, they're great little guys! The largest juvenile from Lisa is taking on the adults now when they go too close to - I'm guessing his - shell and he's barely 1.5 cm long!
I'm keeping a close eye on the Lestradea at the moment, as well as the signs of fin rot, one of them has been flashing against the substrate. I tested the water just to be sure and it was 0/0/5 (I only changed the water Friday night) so it can't be that...
