Talking Catfish

are they loud?? and will they be compatible in my community tank with corys as bottom dwellers and male apisto cacatuoides?

Are they loud? They're called talking catfish because when they're out of the water they rub their shoulder blades together making a croaking noise.

They would be very compatable with your setup, cory's and apisto. I never saw mine though... i had the striped raphael and the spotted raphael.

they will also make the noise when defending their teritory in the tank. its not loud just sounds like a buzz/vibration for a few seconds thats all.

when they get bigger you will see more of them i had 2 at 6 inches that would come out and pinch my big cichlids food from the surface..... they are very greedy fish but very beautifull.

there is 2 for free where i live and they are 5 inch long each but i have a 127 litre tank so it should be fine

I never ever saw mine... they were about 4" roughly. Brilliant to watch, but this was only when i removed everything from the tank.
