Found out my LFS has some of these in stock

And I've wanted some for ages. They're a colour mutation of the bronze cory, so I could easily add a couple to my school of bronzes and the two albino aeneus I already have.

Why I want you to talk me out of it:
1. They're £10 each  That's more than a Sterbai costs.
2. I don't have a spare tank for quarantine right now. I need to move the current fish out of quarantine, but the tank they'd be going to has recently had a big crash, and I want to give it more time until I'm absolutely sure it's stable again before moving these fish over.

On the other hand, I'm positive the store would hold them for me for a week or two.

Common sense is telling me to leave it. They've had them in before, I'm sure they will again. The other side of me is like "WANT!" and remembers it took four months for them to be able to get more pygmy cories in when I needed those, and with Brexit and Covid affecting supply and costs, they're only going to get more expensive.

Don't add any new fish to an aquarium that has recently had dead fish in.
Wait at least one month before adding new fish to any aquarium where a fish has recently died or had a disease.

:-(
I think when I made the post, I was secretly hoping people would help talk me into reserving some, but getting some and then losing them because I bought them too soon after that tank crash would be devastating, so I'll have to reluctantly listen to this sensible advice :-(

I'm sure they'll be available again the future at some point! Hey, @Deanasue managed to breed one from her normal bronze cories, so maybe I'll get lucky and I will too :D

$10/£10 really isn’t that bad for a Corydoras. (At my LFS, the common corys cost $8 a piece, and the special ones cost upwards to $12 a piece)

I know it seems expensive, but if it’s a special fish, the price will naturally go up.

I would ask your store to hold them for.

I say get a couple at least. I have to pay $40 for one plus shipping! Put them in a plastic tote. Go for it!!! ❤️❤️❤️
