So I've got a quick question.
I've got a male betta, Mars, and I always assumed that he was a VT but then I took a closer look and started to think about it a little more.
So, when he flares up his tail it's in the shape of a spade. Another wise it's pretty closed, sort a VT but not long enough.
He's also a smaller fish but I really think that he is full grown.

I thought I read somewhere that there was a tail that looked like a spade but I don't know if I made that up or what.

No there are spade tails. There is a pic of one on here somewhere.... probably within the last 2-3 pages. I'll try to find one for you so you can see if that's what your boy is.

Sounds like yours might be a vt spade tail. Pics would be great. Then maybe you could get someone to tell you for sure.

Thanks, That looks right.
I'll try to get some better shots of him. He's not very photogenic if you know what I mean. My other betta don't mind the camera but he doesn't.
