Hello all,

A little over a year or so ago I had the privilege of converting our spare bedroom into a fish room after MTS hit me hard and needed space:fish:

Currently I have (5x) tanks running and (2x) 4ft tanks are waiting to be setup as soon as the funds allow me :rofl:

(1) 3 ft community tank (Low light)

Tank Size:
- 900mm x 350mm x 350mm

Subtrate:
-Prodibio AquaGrowth at the back and playsand in front

Light:
- Cheap 6Watt LED light

Plant List:
- Anubias (varies)
- Amazon swords (varies),
- Crypt (No idea which one) :lol:
- Vallisneria &
- Bacopa monnieri
- Java Fern (added recently)

Filters:
-Sobo HOB filter & small Sobo Internal filter for circulation.

Hardscape:
-River rocks & pebbles with mopani drift wood.

Livesock:
- Mix of Silver tip, glow light and serpea tetras.
- 3 x Tiger barbs.

(2) 3 ft high tech planted tank (only planted 3 weeks ago but tank has been running for 5 weeks)

Tank Size:
- 900mm x 350mm x 350mm

Subtrate:
- Prodibio AquaGrowth

Light:
- Zetlight Lancia 2 ZP4000 Plant

Plant List:
- Rotala Colorata
- Rotala Rotundifolia*
- Hygropgila Corymbosa
- Alternanthera Reneckii Roseafolia
- Alternanthera Reneckii mini*
- Ludwigia SP Rubin*
- Bacopa Monnieri*
- Hydrocotyle Tripartita
- Lilaeolopsis Brasiliensis
- Monte Carlo

*(Plants are still transitioning from submerged to immersed form)

Fertilizer:
- Easy-Life Profito (1.5ml daily)

Filter:
- Aqua-One Aquis 1000 Canister Filter

Hardscape:
- Manten Stone

Extras:
- Pressurised CO2 with Saga regulator
- Inline Ista CO2 reactor
- Sobo Surface skimmer.

Livestock:
- 7 Black neon Tetras
- 5 Otocinclus

(3) 3 ft African Rift lake setup (Temporary)

Tank Size:
- 900mm x 350mm x 350mm

Substrate:
- Playsand

Light:
- Cheap 4Watt light with white and blue LED's

Filter:
- Tetra EX600 Canister Filter

Nothing much else to say except these 4 Malawi Cichlids will go to a 250 liter setup hopefully happening in next few months.

(4) 3 ft 'kind of quarantine' tank as I'm keeping some tetras in there with driftwood for future scapes.

(5) Bichir Setup (Temporary)

Tank size: 800mm x 450mm x 450mm

Subtrate:
-Prodibio AquaGrowth and playsand

Light:
- LED light supplied with aquarium

Plant List
- Vallisneria
- Hair grass
- Nymphaea Micrantha
- Aponogeton Criptus

Filters:
- 50 liter sump

Hardscape
-Mopani drift wood.

Livesock:
- 1 x Polypterus Senegalus

All this will eventually be moved to a 250 liter West-African Biotope setup.

These little frogs are very interesting and actually I see they available in South Africa. Would love to try something like this in the future !!! I've got the space :lol:

Do it! In many ways it's easier than aquariums and it's super fun. If you want to research it, go to dendroboard.com
