 Help. Just trying to stock up the tank as it was looking rather empty. Got five serpae tetras and five red eye tetras to go with the two red eyes I already had, a dwarf gourami and a newish pleco. They were all in fine health when I got them home but just a few hours later, one had had his tail bitten right off and later died. Two more have since died but the water is ok and the tank is well established. The proper tank/filter maintenance is happening. I noticed that one of the red eyes was acting aggressively this morning but haven't seen it happening since. I am getting really disheartened with the deaths and would obviously like to get it sorted. Any ideas?

First off, what's the size of your tank?

I've heard some people have trouble from keeping gouramis and tetras together.

Serpaes can be nippy little fellas, is it them or the red eyes that are losing fins?
We also need to know what your water quality is like, ammonia, nitrite and PH and also the PH of your tap water if you can.
