hi, i am running an aquanano 40 and i am looking for a suitable high output light system to replace the one that came with the tank as it just isnt cutting it for my high demand plants, consideration has to be taken for the lid of this tank as it is a clear glass lid that has roughly 5-7 mm clearance between the lid and the side walls of the tank. Does anyone have any experience with this specific tank and fitting non standard lighting, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

can do, as long as it is not too expensive. max £180-£190 anymore and my wife will murder me =p, ive already spent too much money on fish according to her lol, as long as it has high output for baby dwarf tears and other high demand plants

any1 have any experience with this LED light http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/arcadia-ecoaqua-30w-led-spotlight-tropical-p-5998.html, would this be too much for my tank or just right? i dont know anything about LED products and this seems expensive, i would like to know if it is good value for money as this is a lot of money for me as i only work part time and bring in £400 every 4 weeks

That is a nice light but is very expensive, ps3steveo could build a unit which will give the same amount of light for a fraction of the cost for a tank your size, check this thread for an ideal of what is on offer.

If you are interested you can contact ps3steveo by posting in that thread or sending him a PM.
