To start this of, i have anouther thread already about "possible eggs" which i discoverd on the 5th of this month "oct 09" so anyway i thought i would start a proper thread on it as i have been posting nearly every day about there progress so to bring anyone who didnt notice my thread into the know how.....
this is when i discovered them,
as you can see these cichlids are not full size yet! so yes i was very shocked (there about 2" each)
so on the 8th of oct i noticed some eggs were going white, i asked and it would seem i was getting a die of as my lfs ( a trusted decent one) and guys on the forums informed me of what this was (eggs not fertalized and such) So me being all heart broken thought i was not going to get any little baby fishies untill....i noticed some eggs had moved to the bottom of the tank, i got really worried and started asking again and got it into my head there was not going to be any little eggs swimming about....but then when i got up on the 10th of oct and looked closly at the little eggs i noticed they were "shaking" OMG!!! i had eggs with tails!!! i got very excited and got the whole family to come and look, my mother was the only one who could not see, bless her what age does to you hey? so on the 11th i had anouther look and the eggs had huddled together to form one big ball so to speak, about the size of a 10p.
On the 12th though horror struck me lol, i looked at the tank to find brown alge had started to grow everywhere! i thought this may damage my little cichlids babys so water changes started happening alot more now, i try to do 10% in the morning before work and then 25% at about 7ish, dont want to stress the fish out to much but dont want the water to be bad either! so.....jumping a few days to yesterday (the 14th oct) i came across the little ones trying to move! wow this is something that i found pretty amzing that i had to post it! so now comes today.......what and improved ment! this morning i looked at the tank and they were pretty big, moving a little and such but when i got home from work i was greeted with this...
there really trying to move now!! and only a few hours after this picture....
wow!!! there swiming about! i promptly feed them in the hope the babys would come and feed but only the parents did, its ok though i guess they will when they need food, ive not even bother to try and count how many there is, or how im going to deal with so many fry in a 90L tank! (this is a temp tank for the adults they just happend to decide to breed in it) so if anyone is intrested in some t-bar cichlids let me know, i dont want anything for the little guys so there free to a good home, just dont expect me to pay the postage for em So back to topic, ive got to go do anouther water change as ive not done my 25% today due to all the excitment i will no doubt post again on there progress! thanks for reading!
