Could one of these go in a 33 gal tank ?
How much do they cost in the UK?
To breed them do you only need male and female ?

Depending on the size they cost from £12 to £30. I don't know much about breeding them except that you do need to have them in with mouthbrooders, as they mix their eggs in with the mouthbrooders, and the mouthbrooders in effect bring up the cuckoo cats. Have you tried www.planetcatfish.com?

They will work in a 33 gallon, but I highly recommend you get a trio as they do best in groups. If you want to breed them you would need to keep at least a male and a female with a mouthbrooding cichlid as mentioned, a smaller hap would be best. If you're getting them as juveniles though, you have a couple of years till they'll breed.

Yea, your definetaly going to need more then a pair, more harder to breed species as they need hosts. Hap ahli's make good as ahli's breed like crazy and easily. Bigger tank better though like 55g or 75g. They will begin to spawn once the setting is right and as long as their other fish are breeding, the female will go and set eggs in the nest of fish's nest of eggs males fertilize them, the syno's hatch before the cichlid's eggs do and the syno babies eat the cichlid's eggs.

Some say blackworms is key to triggering them to spawn and keep them going...planetcatfish is prolly best way to go on more breeding tips.
