Syndontis Angelicus - Got One Today

Went to Pier today and ended up buying a small one of these as it was only cheap. I had a larger one about 15 years ago and hes i my sons tank for now till he grows enough to go in my bigger tank

Would I be right in thinking that the care is going to be the same as for Eupterus? Potentially teritorial though?

Yep, all Synos are pretty much the same. I would watch the aggression issues if you have more catfish that are trying to get into the same hiding spot -- the angelicus might not play nice.

I'm researching for which type of syno to put in w/my mbuna! I think they have the potential to get too big for me(I don't want'em to big).

He's tiny to be honest. He's in my sons tank till he grows a bit as he'd be snapped up in my tank.

I'm not sure why I bought him as I'm not a fan of Syno's, bit of an impulse buy really but I'll give him a good home. he looks odd for now as he has a fglat belly and I know that syno's are greedy and usually have full belly. He's very secretive for now

kj smallish syno to go with mbuna

look for multipunctatus the cookoo catfish from tanganyika i had these breeding with mbuna from malawi had too many had to go to lfs eventully with babies

Actually, an even smaller species of syno is petricola. Look just like multis, but are even smaller.

Petricola is indeed a fine fish but the cookoo will use the mouth brooders to better effect

i was in pets at home (urgh) yesterday and they were selling 1cm black spotted sydontis for £16.99 they didnt even know whqat species they were, infact one of them nearly mistook them for corydoras (which were on 4 for £10) i would have considered them at that price lol
