Fish Herder
hi
I bought a orange male Swordtail and a female from the same tank a week ago, the female is fine but the male still isn't eating any of the food that i put in the tank, I'm beginning to wondered whats up with him. He appears to be healthy good colour, fins all erect and not clamped in any way. He tries to eat the flakes that i put in but all he does is spit them out and swims off. He usually stays at the back of the tank and looks at himself in the reflection of the glass.
I noticed today that he has some kind of red markings (not spots as such abit like streaks) on his top dorsal fin which i don't think is part of his make up. He looks really sorry for himself.
I have checked water chemistry and it is zero ammonnia and nitrite and .5 nitrate and PH is 7.6 everyone else is 100% in the tank.
So why aint he eating? i have tried flakes, algae disc's and blood worm but just isn't interested.
