Ok
I have a 20 high and it was fully stocked things were great then.....mass ick death lost all my fish. I was really upset as this was my 1st major loss in a long time. I have had fish my whole life, and had 9 monthes earlier made the jump to more $$$$ fish . So there I was looking at my 3 ghost shrimp that cost me a buck. and a empty tank(and bank book). And I thought never again I'm not going to set it up again. But we have all said that at one time or another. And you can all guess what happened after 3 weeks of looking at the empty tank...... I smashed the h@ll out of it. Wrong I went to the fish store.
But nothing struck my fancy and my old favs just didn't jump at me. So I went off in a new area livebearers.
I'm not knocking livebearers I just have never had them, I think it was because my friend has like 4 tanks full of them. And secreatly most fishkeepers want to have the "different", " best" tank but I have always liked guppies. But the LFS didn't have any good colored ones that popped at me.
So I remembered something from a book I read (Confessions of a fish Dr.) and got Long fin swordtails. Now they are fun to watch but my tank looks a bit empty as the shrimp haven't learned to do those back flips yet!!
But what do you think I should get? I thought I'll go way different for me and go all livebearers but what the heck do you do with all the fry????? I'm not sure I have neon tetrea in me again. Any ideas anything fun to go with, should I get more swordy tails?
Thanks for any ideas you have !!

you could get more livebearers and let the fry be eaten if thats what your worried about or if you would rather you could put them in a trap and raise them im not going to tell you how because there are far too many of those threads already out there, :good: or if you fancy you could get some harliquins i really like mine, or you could get my fav fish rtbs 8) have fun deciding in your new fish

20g high? How many Swordtails do you have now? Depending on how many, you might be able to get some kind of small schooling fish. If you're worried about fry, you can always do survival of the fittest. However, some may still survive, so it's good to have a plan for them. Such as scouting out a fish store that will take them, or finding someone near you or on here that wants them. :)

I have 1 m and 1 f, I was trying to find a "main fish " for the tank.
Someone said rtbs but I think they get to big and I'm not sure that is the way I want to go. My feature fish was a rosline shark ( danio , barb what ever it goes by so many different names) and I think that is to much alike. I was thinking Angel but I thought they might nip the swordy's?
Any thought on what would go well and maybe keep population in check, I know that there are a bunch but like I said, I just went blank this round of LFS trips.

You'll probably want to get at least 1 more female, to keep the ratio right. After that, you won't have that much room for other fish. An Angel will get too big. You could possibly get some kind of smaller Gourami, if you like those?
