swordtail question

i was wondering, my female sword became a male like a month ago, so now as a male is he fertile? can he mate and have fry? well not him have the fry but you know what i mean

Thats the thing with swordtails the male's dont develop the swordtail for a while so that why many people think they have had a sex change so he will be able to help produce fry!

well actually she did change sex because i had a pair and the female was even pregnant but then the male died and the female started growing a sword

Did s/he ever give birth before? If not than it was probably never pregnant. I got two swordtails one male and what I thought was a female. I even thought s/he was pregnant but then I noticed it was developing a gonopodium. I am still trying to decide if I should get a couple female swordtails when I get a bigger tank.
