OUR SWORDTAIL HAS HAD BABIES, SHE IS IN A BREEDING CONTAINER DO WE TAKE THE MOTHER OUT OR LEAVE HER WITH THE BABIES

Hello !

My boyfriend had this dilema with his and he was advised to separate from parents and raise alone for about 2-3 weeks, before trying to reintroduce to the community. This worked well for him.

If she is not eating the fry then you could leave her in there for a day or so but watch her carefully as the moms often eat the fry. I say to leave her in the breeder because if you have a male sword in the tank he will pester her quite a bit and with everything she has just been through that may just be enough to over stress her and she could become ill. If there is no male in the tank then go ahead and let her out. HTH
