Switching To Sand?

i want to switch from gravel to sand substrate to helpprotect the barbels on my cats.

is there anything special i need to know about? what about transplanting plants?

can i use any sand, including the kind intended for saltwater?

Just search this forum for sand. Plenty of topics. No, nothing specific regarding plants that I know of.

It does not matter what sand you use. you could even use kids play sand. Im not sure about the saltwater sand though!

I am pretty sure that the stuff from salt water could effect your ph so I would stay away from that unless someone says otherwise!
