I posted this in the Cyprinids, Characins and Atherinids area, and was advised to post it here, hope someone can help.

I just got these from my LFS today [3 red eyed tetras] and one of them keeps going into this vertical position, and just floating around. When he is not vertical it likes to just sit at the top of the water. Is this normal? I have a feeling im just nervous about it, but wanted to make sure this wasnt some strange habit i needed to be aware of...

its the one in the middle

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

He looks bloated. Does he look bloated.
Does he turn upside down.
What do you feed the fish.
What does it look like when he goes to the toilet.

Need to improve there diet with frozen foods like daphnia and brime strimp.
Green veg like peas, spinach, broc, sproats, cabbage.

Cook some frozen peas for a few minutes. Let cool down and pop out of shell, mush into small peices and add to the tank.

Hows the fish doing.

well. it was doing okay the last day or so.

and it LITERALLY just went crazy. i looked over and it was spinning in circles and going all crazy! omg i wish i would have had my camera near. ive never seen anything like that.

now its sitting back at the top again, kinda in that straight up and down position.

HELP!?!

Read your other thread and it bad water quality that caused the swim bladder.
Also once fish start to spin they are dying.

Swim bladder is caused by bad water quality, unstable temp, bad diet, injury, birth defect, internal parasites, bacterial infection of the swim bladder.
