I currently have two fish in my tank that I suspect of having swim blatter disease. One is a small tetra that can not stop swimming ot he will float to the bottom. The other is a green tiger barb than can not stop swimming or he will float to the top. I have never had a problem like this.

Any suggestions to help these fish would be greatly appreciated. One seems like he is on the verge of death since it is har for him to eat.

there are two main causes of swim bladder disease
bacterial and viral
if it is bacterial then a good anti bacterial medication will cure it
if it is viral then there is very little you can do.

other causes of loss of ballance is physical damage to the swim bladder or constipation.
the physical damage will heal in time, if it is constipation try feeding a cooked, deshelled pea. this acts as a laxative.

there are other causes of loss of equilibrium but thses are rare.

My advise keep the water clean and try anti-bacterial meds in combination with feeding a pea.
