As if trying to beat columnaris isn't enough, one of my boys has developed a swim bladder issue. I am hoping it is only constipation and not dropsy. He was swimming fine this morning. Then later on in the day I looked at him and he seemed to be resting near the top of the water. I watched him for a while and he can't seem to swim downwards. He can but it takes a lot of effort. He floats to the top of the water really fast too, like he has a life jacket on. I tried to feed him some peas, but no go, they sink too fast and he can't stay down long enough to eat them. His tank has a pinch of salt in it already. Is there anything else I can do for him? I lowered the water level in his tank to about 6". I could do it more as he is in a 1G bowl and not swimming. He still seems alert and I have seen no signs of pineconing. I am watching him right now and as I type he is trying to stay upright and having problems. My poor boy, I feel so bad for him right now.
He does have a bloated belly. I wish there was something I could do to make him feel better.
