Last night I went to a pet store to pick up some betta pellets. I couldn't see any, but I saw that they had a male crowntail betta
so I knew they must have them to feed him. So I asked a member of staff, and pointed to the betta, asking what he ate. She plonked a pot of goldfish flake things into my hand and disappeared. When I turned back round, she had the betta in a bag, and was taking him over to the counter! And there was no one else in the shop! She assumed that I was buying him, and she said,
"So that's £3.75 please!" I couldn't say to her
"Oh no sorry I'm not buying him!" She would have thought I was loopy! So I gave her the money and left quickly!
As it was 10 o'clock when we got back home, I started panicking because I didn't know what to put him in! I found a jar thingy that is quite big so he lived in that overnight, and don't worry, I will be buying him his own 2.5 Minibow tank tonight!

Thing is, I woke up about 4 o'clock this morning, turned the light on, and saw something on the floor! Then I realised it was my new betta! Goodness knows how long he had been there for, but he was very dry. Also, he was covered in bits of carpet fluff and hair, like a lollipop when you drop it on the floor! I picked him up and pulled the hair off, and he started flapping his tail a bit. I put him back in his jar and watched him. At first he just sunk to the bottom, but his gills were moving very fast. Eventually he started swimming round again, but very slowly.
How he managed to survive all that time out of water is beyond me! I think I have a miracle betta!
And it's lucky that I'm buying him his own tank tonight because he doesn't seem to like his jar!
P.S - I do have experience with bettas! And I have 3 other cycled tanks at the moment, but one has 1 other male crowntail, another one has fin-nippers like tiger-barbs, and the other one has male guppies, angels and gouramis that he wouldn't like!![nod  ](/images/smilies/ipb/yes.gif)
