I am busy preparing a tank for them but from previous experience..... I know they are awesome jumpers.... (I had one jumping over my head from the pond some time ago)..... Question is...... at what size should I cover the top of the tank to prevent them from jumping out...... These (6) are now slightly bigger than a week old molly fry....... All my tanks (in the fish room) are open topped...... I'll see if my wife has some old sunfilter curtains hidden somewhere and get her to sew some beads around to weigh it down.....

You can get some plastic mesh from Walmart or somewhere and make a lid!

What I did to prevent my killies from jumping is, that I took an old t-shirt (or take a piece of cloth), cut it at the right size and sew elastics (the one used in clothing, such as pijamas) all around it. Worked perfectly and even if you have cables or airline coming out of the tank, the elastics ensures that you don't get gaps.

The biggest one (of the 5) is beginning to take shape and showing some colour..... At an early guess, I'd say it is a Rachovii of some description... The smallest one is being chased by him, so I hope enough retreat area is provided..... they are now in a 2ft tank filled to 50%.

Right!!... here is an update on some.....there are just 5 and I'd appreciate if our Killi expert will confirm that these are indeed Rachovii's....

What species did you acquire.....a few look quite similar so I need to know what you bought.

Guentheri would've been my 2nd guess..... They did not specify what I should expect in the box (other than "Magic Fish").... That is an Apple snail in the background Blubble and they are now in a 24"tank.....
