unless the dog is obviously getting upset, then it is NOT cruelty
my dog LOVED
getting dressed up for halloween
she was a beautiful border collie X lab
it started when we got her a knew collar, she was so excited
she was prancing around all prissy when we said "pretty girl", showing off how beautiful she was
when she would get groomed they would put a bow in her hair and there would be a bounce in her step for hours
then we started dressing her up in halloween costumes (like a spider) and going on and on saying "pretty girl"
for the rest of her life, it didn't matter how rediculous she looked, if you put ANYTHING on her she would prance around and show off her "pretty"
i don't see how that is cruel
the dog doesn't know the difference between a sweater and a bumblebee costume for gods sake!
all they know are the admiring eyes around them
some people, i tell ya
the ones that get pampered and showed off like that are usually the best taken care of, as they are obviously someones baby and well loved
go attack someone who beats their dog, or never walks them and keeps them on a chain
if people want to make a difference they have to concentrate on protesting towards specific things
your best bet is to help out in extreme cases (ACTUAL abuse)
not to spread it out and protest equal rights for animals
EDIT: BTW your dog is the cutest little thing ever!
i just want to kiss its little forehead forever
