heya, while looking in my local shop i noticed some sunset platies, i have a 60cm x 30cm tank with at the moment nothing in, so how many should i grt if any, what temperature they like and are they glood for my set up?

Hi i have some sunset platies, they are great fish. i would'nt get to many say about 3 if you want to breed them then 2 females and one male. If not then get 3 female. Males will just chase each other around looking for females. I am not to sure on the inch per fish ratio but there are threads on here about that but i am sure that they have to be in aleast a 10 gallon tank to be happy, Thats why i had to buy a 55 gallon ( or thats what i told my husband).

a general rule 3 females per 1 male. or get all females :)

Going by your meausrements, your tank will be around 12 gallons..

In that you could have 3 males and 7 females easy with a well filtered tank and regular water changes.

Temp id keep at 26, food they like flake, protien foods, pellets, frozen and lives foods such as bloodworm daphnia and brineshrimp,

thanks buddy, im going to buy 1 male 3 females i think, then ill have room for more of different fishies

thanks everyone
