We live on a lake and always catch sunny's.....so we brought some in and kept them in our 55 gal. tank. We brought all babies in, and now have 2 Pumpkinseeds, 1 Bluegill, and 1 Bass. They realtively get along well, the one pumpkinseed is VERY territorial, but not agressive. They need something to hide under (we have a log). They eat worms out of my hand, and swim over to the glass when I even pass by the tank. I consider them my 'lil pets"! We will release them once they get a little bigger, but as of now, we've had em' over 2 months now and are doing great. BUTTTT, I must stress, the tank is horrible to keep clean....they are very dirty and always are making little beds by swooshing the stones w/ their tail and stirring up dirt. We had to buy a test kit, and check the water almost daily, and we syphon 20% of the water every few days. It's neat though to see how they'd act in the wild, it's fun to watch them. I hooked one in his lip, and it was a mess, but w/in a few days it was all healed up. They're def alot of work, and better off in the lake
That was the first thing I noticed when I clicked on this thread. I was actually trying to tell 02envoy that catching them and putting them in an aquarium might be illegal where he lives.
