Sump Pumps

ok i need a good sump pump... right now i only have one overflow box for my 170 gal but plan to get another one to have dual overflow. what kind of pump would be good?

What are the overflow boxes rated for?

If you know the ID of the bulkhead or the pipe used that comes off it, yes...

its an 1 1/8" Inside diameter .

Well a 1" bulkhead can drain 600gph so I'd look for a return pump in the 900gph rated range. Are you going internal or external?

im going to go with an internal.

Well, if going submersible remember thats going to cause heat issues in the summer on larger submersibles. Can still be done, but something to think about longterm.

If submersible I'd suggest something like a Mag 7 or Mag 9.5...

well based off of your 600 gal per hour that the lfs agreed with, i times that by two since it will be two overflows @ 600gph = 1200 gph i went down to the lfs and after some consideration opted for the mag 1200, hope it will be just right.

Dual overflows and a mag 12 should be fine
