Summer Transfer Speculation

He'll make a big difference to you, as will the return of Scholes

It also seems you are going to get Senna, though why he's waited over a year for a holding midfielder to replace Keane then seemingly you will have 2, I don't know :S

I'm hoping Alan Smith does well (not too well of course ;) ) as I think he could do a great job for England as 3rd choice behind Shrek and Sicknote.

I'm still stunned that he didn't raid Italy, mind you, you're not as attractive to the rent boys as you used to be are you? First Ronaldinho turned you down for Barca a couple of years ago (when Keane said he had no ambition  and went on to win a european cup), then Ballack, Viera and Obi Mikel all turning down offers from ManYoo.

Mind you, none of the big players would come to Liverpool either, but at least we don't get embarressed by making offers in the first place

If you get cover for Giggs, I think you'll be a lot stronger than last year, I already think we are (another striker would help though) and Arsenal look good, their "kids" are coming of age now. Should be a more exciting season :D

Arfie

actualy we never made an offer for viera, and believe it or not we have cover for giggs in park ji sung its just fergie payed all that money for him an just doesnt play him enough he can play left or right midfield is a very versatile an i think he's great but is just trailing ronaldo an giggs
im fuming that we didnt raid juventus heres one for you when Ibrahamovic decided he would leave juventus he reportedly said he would love the challenge of the priemiership an said it would be amazing to play for a strong premiership team such as man utd did fergie capatalize on the hint....NO!
and now theres rumours were trying to nick adriano as he's reportedly annoyed with inter's new signings, and much as it kills me to admit it we dont have a chance in getting adriano...the only team in the premiership that could afford him is chelsea

Adriano is a great player, but another that didn't show his quality during the world cup. The thing is if Chelsea decide they want him, I doubt he'd choose Utd (or LFC for that matter), maybe Real or Barca, but then again how many forwards do Real have now :S and Barca can't be far behind.

I'm sure I read that Tevez was a target, now he did look good for Argentina  , so he could be an option. I just can't believe that he doesn't have a BIG name lined up ready to surprise everyone, someone like Torres or Ronaldo (the proper one not diving Portuguese cheat!).

It's looking more likely that we're going for Kuyt, if we can knock them down on price, difficult with the barcodes sniffing around him, probably pushing it back up

I'm really looking forward to this season, I think overall it will be a good 3 or 4 way fight up at the top and I'm confident we can push all the way this year, maybe not win, but certainly to challenge, and that would be a massive improvement on the last 15 years.

Timmy, you may be interested to know that a Liverpool XI are playing a friendly against Lincoln City on Aug 16th.

Yeah, I know part of the deal about you getting one of there players... i'm not off to that scum-pit even if it is Liverpool! I saw Liverpool play Boston 4 years ago, that was good for me! We won 4-2!! :D

well we signed kutzack (cant spell his name) as a back up keeper for van der sar were in for senna but thats been put on hold as apparently we have a good chance of getting diarra now but still no striker talk apart from adriano and sadly i just cant see that happening heres how i would line the team up next season this is going strictly off players we have not players we are rumoured to get

Don't forget you will soon have a fit Alan Smith a guy who may not score as many as RVN (but very few will), but match for match will outscore shrek  I understand Ole is fit again too, oh and if Scholes is fit and back on form, you'll have goals there too.

I actually don't think you need another striker, I think you had too many in the first place having bought Shrek (Saha, Shrek, Smith, Ole, Rossi) and able to play up front you also have Giggs and Scholes.

Your midfied is the weakest link and was being filled with strikers highlighting the point. He was playing Smith in there, Ole often plays on the wing, and Shrek was often deployed on the wing, granted they can then get forward, but they aren't doing a midfield job properly.

You see we have the opposite problem, tons of midfielders and light on strikers, we've got Kewell, Zenden, Gonzales, Aurelio, Riise (both can play fullback or winger), Gerrard, Sissoko, Alonso, Garcia and Pennant so that's 8 dedicated midfielders and 2 stand ins and all bar Pennant & Aurelio are full internationals (Aurelio is tipped to replace Roberto Carlos). Then Crouch, Fowler and Bellamy upfront, we really could do with a big strong powerful forward, like Alan Smith or maybe Kuyt.

We got him :yahoo:

At last a big strong goal scorer (I hope) to go with the rest of the summer aquisitions and the already pretty useful squad we had before.

I now think we are covered in all area's for all types of games, we've got some big strong powerful players if we need a scrap, plenty of defensive players when up against the likes of Arsenal/Chelsea & Barca, fast players for break aways and some of the best passers of the football in Europe and a few technicaly good (if a little lightweight for the Prem) players, useful in europe. And on top of this we've a few youngsters out on loan too including 2 England Keepers (Kirkland & Carson) :D We have at least 2 decent players for each position now.

So, the remaining speculation, will Hargreaves move to ManUre? will Cole move to Chelski? if he does will Bridge leave the Bridge? will Reyes move to Real? will Gallas get out of Chelski, or wait and go on a free next year? :shifty:

Arfie

I've changed my opinion on Hargreaves but if it's true they're looking to get £30m for him they better think again.

You could get Adriano or Trezegout for that and enough change for a player as good as hargraeves, like Blackburn's Steven Reid.

Dirk Kuyt Video What the hell are we gonna do with a real goalscorer in the team

Left foot, right foot, headed, 6 yard box, outside the area AND penalties, OMG what have we done  :good:

I wasn't a fan of Hargreaves for England, but like many others he won me over in Germany. Then again you don't play for so long with Bayern unless you are bloody good, he'd be a great signing, but a bit similar to Carrick. I'm sure they could both play together, but it would make your midfield a bit on the defensive side, pretty much the opposite to what you had last year. I'm not sure Fergie would pay £30m for an unproven south american, they don't always do so well over here despite their talent, still he's a great player and it'd be nice to see him regularly.

Arfie

I think our midfield will be alot better this year with carrick and scholes coming back.

Scholes can play the lampard role of getting forward with carrick taking care of any counter attacks, Ronaldo and giggs on the wing is good enough for me.

Still worried about our goalscoring ability without a goal machine, Solkjaer has a great record on as a sub but i wonder if he can do much as a starter for the majoirty of the season. If he starts alot he will be in my fantasy football team though

I'm gobsmacked Tevez has gone to West Ham  Not ManUre, Arsenal, Chelski, Milan or Barca, but West Ham  He must be on some serious medication

And for some reason, as we've now got 2 decent players for each position, we've allowed our covering rightback (Kronkamp) to leave

Arfie

Everyone is apparently in for Torres (including you, us and chelski), if he is not signed before the world cup and has a good tournemant he'll be well over £20m
I can't believe we could be getting him at last and at £26.5m I wasn't far off with my prediction over a year ago :hyper:

I't been weird reading some of these predictions, some right, some close, some still bubbling along and some woefully wrong.

Arfie

It seems that the figure is nearer £20m :D

We've got £4m from the sale of Garcia and another £8m for Bellamy to West Ham and a reported £9m coming for Cisse too, so we could be £1m up soon, with the introduction of a supposed world class player :good:

Strikers now are Crouch - still our most efficient striker, Kuyt - works his socks off and I think may do better this season, now he's had time to settle in, Torres - Not expecting too much from him next season, he should just be learning how to play in the premiership and the same for Voronin who as a free transfer I'm not expecting too much, perhaps he'll be the new star

Now if we can get a couple of decent wingers, we'll be approaching a good side with our tight defense (Arsenal kids excepted) and the central midfield we have :D . Maybe Kewell will finally live upto his reputation in his final year and actually play some decent consistant football

leeds united fan soooooo where do i start.....

as seeing as they cant buy and sell players because of the administration war lol its most likely they will end up with the same crap as last season

players 2 go, nicholls has already agreed 2 go 4 £400k (big money)
healy to fulham for £1-3mil
HOPEFULLY HOPEFULLY NOT beckford 2 scunny

players in, leon constantine - more than likely
and some foreign player i heard the other day not sure of his name but sounds french

its very predictable there gona be 30yo + and be donkeys like alan thompson
i would like 2 see some overseas players 2 add a bit of flair 2 the team, possibly south american lol i could give dennis wise a few tips on players (trust me football manager 2007 is so real 4 finding players 4 the future)

i heard crouch was leaving liverpool possibly 2 spain?
but now saviola is on a free transfer i would love 2 see a tea like liverpool snap him up

also i just saw on the bbc website the premiership is having hawk-eye trials like in tennis and other sports, i personally think it will be good 4 decision making but could take some of the fun out of football as theres nothing better than having some dodgy decision 2 talk about on the way home from a match.

its great when predictions come true, im still desperately close 2 my palacio prediction

....
Theres players like humberto suazo, Rodrigo palacio, Nicolas millan, neri cardozo hu I think will all end up in European football hopefully English, .....

barca have had about a £16mil offer accepted but bcoz south american players r owned by about 1000 other people they have 2 agree fees with them aswell.
i also found out the other day that barca got messi for free! his old team newells old boys couldnt pay messi's medication because he has a growth deficiancy or something, so barca come in and said yh they would pay it all if he come 2 live in spain and he agreed and now hes the world superstar he is 2day.
