Thanks

Hi,

Found out from another forum  that she is a L264 Leporacanthicus joselimai!

I will try and get some more pics as she settles in the tank

L stands for Lorricaridae ( the species of plecs) and the number is the classified number it has been given to date L270 onwards are newer species, some have been renamed and renumbered since they were discovered a few years ago, and some as yet have no numbers. hopes this helps a little!

They have also been a lot of Lorricaridae discovered and as yet do not have common names or similar fish are grouped under a similar common name.

So it is easier to identify them by their L Number so that you know exactly what fish it is.

But to confuse things some fish have more than one L number as the juvenile fish does not have the same markings as the adult fish and therefore was originally classified as different L numbers.
